Chris Leyden has 30 years of experience as a boat
captain. Chris holds a U.S.C.G. 500 ton license and has commanded
power and sailing yachts to ports all over the globe. He also has
extensive experience managing yachts, having worked at Fraser Yachts
in their megayacht managing division. This has given Chris a unique
view into the "big picture" that demanding owners expect from their
yacht's crew and management companies.
The yachting world has changed since 9/11. Some
ports of call once considered "Paradise" may be dangerous venues.
The demands on the captains and crews have grown exponentially
driven by the requirements from more security conscious boat owners,
new legislation recently enacted to protect our world's ports
and waterways, and the emergence of the mega yacht.
In response to these changing times Chris has collaborated
with industry experts and determined that today's yacht needs
are not fully being met. Their assessments formed the baseline
for the business model of a new company that was founded in 2003.
In 2003 SeaPort
Yacht Services was launched to address the
brave new world of yachting in the 21 st Century. In 2003 over
100 customers purchased our products or services, and a select
few have worked with us exclusively. A key reason for our success
