Portfolio of Services

SeaPort Security Group has assembled a team of companies that have provided service and logistical support world wide for 20% of all the Mega yachts owners in the world today.

In the recent past, the owner’s yacht was the safe haven for successful businessmen to escape the hectic business world and allow them to retreat to the far corners of the globe to relax and “decompress.” In the wake of 9/11 new potential threats have emerged that make the escape to the yacht more risky than the business world they left

Some ports that were once exotic safe havens may be potential security risks. The threats to the yachts and the passengers on board have grown from piracy to include kidnapping and terrorism. In response to these new threats, Governments have issued new regulations under SOLAS like ISPS and AIS to protect our ports. These new regulations place stringent requirements on the Captains and Security Officers to announce their arrival 96 hours in advance. The interpretation and enforcement of these rules vary from region to region and port to port

Seaport Security Group focuses on 3 main objectives:

  • Awareness
  • Action Plan
  • Intelligence

Every boat owner has their own unique requirements. Seaport Security can pull together a Security Plan as simple or as complex as your security objectives require.

Products and services that empower owners to achieve these objectives are:

1. Vessel Security Assessment
Identifying blind spots, and weak points that exist on every yacht. Once identified, electronic surveillance can be placed to assist in overcoming these blind spots.

2. Training your crew and Security Officer on Situational Awareness Today’s crews are well trained to respond to foul weather, and in most cases emergency evacuation in instances of fire or the sinking of the ship. Most crews however lack the insight and observation skills to recognize a potentially hostile act before it occurs and take appropriate action

3. Action plans
These are plans that are specifically developed based on your yacht, your crew, and include geographical dependencies i.e. Threats that you might face based on where in the world you are.

4. Electronic security
There is much more to this than a simple security system. Our finds may recommend various different technologies such as:

  • Night vision
  • Non-glare spotlights that won’t “blind” the crew.
  • Low-light illumination
  • Encrypted data communications.
  • Sensors and Alarms
  • Secure Entryways
  • Building a remote safe helm to navigate and control the ship.
5. Intelligence
“In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king” Having current security data is critical to insuring a safe embarkation, disembarkation and safe passage.

You have radar and weather reports to assist you in avoiding visible threats, why would you not want to have security data for the invisible threat?

6. Extraction plans and resources
Most yacht owners have some sort of extraction plan in the event of a medical emergency. Most idyllic places they wish to visit have less than desirable medical facilities and often, unstable governments.

SeaPort Security Group has extended the extraction model to cover hostile acts against the boat and crew.

In the event of a kidnapping or hostage situation that was not condoned by the local government SeaPort Security Group has contingency plans to extract you from a hostile situation.

7. Seaport Security certified safety products
For a little more money discriminating yacht owners can purchase “Military Issue” Items from Life Rafts to Kevlar Life jackets to EPIRBS and illumination gear.

If you end up in the water and not in your boat, would you really want to be floating around in anything less than Military Grade Safety gear?
